05/02/2009

Kinda crazy putting the 05 for May in the date. Can't believe that may is here, sadly its started with another dreary, cold, and wet weekend... So the picture at the bottom was of last weekend, I went out for a ride on the bike, there had been some crazy gusts of wind that day. I got up in the foothills in PG and was looking over the valley. There wasn't even a breeze where I was but I saw all this dirt and dust suddenly get picked up in the valley by the PG freeway exit. It was pretty big and moved way fast, I got a pic of it real quick. I'm sorry you have to click on the pictures to get a good look at the whole thing. For some reason it is n't let me edit their size on the post. So the other day I was coming into work and there was a femal and a male mallard duck by the door, I went inside then decided to take a pic of them. As I came out again and pulled out my camera it scared them and they took off. I got a pic of the male in flight. That night had been pretty cold so I think they were keeping warm by the building. Today at work the were asking for volunteers to help with some sort of digging. I volunteered and we went to AF park kiddy corner from Albertsons. They gave us some killer t-shirts to wear while doing the service haha! We dug and cemented in the fence post for a fence that will go around a couple of the cabins that are now in that park. Next week we will be putting in the panels for it. They had rented the equipment from Timp Rental, being as I am a former employee of Timp they had me run the equipment. It was pretty fun, nice to get out and do something outside. Well the weather should be geting better by next week and it should be gradually getting warmer. It better get warmer as the average temp for may is around 74 degrees. Summer is just around the bend! Well till next time...

04/28/09

Alright it has been quite some time since I last blogged on here. Not too much has happened. I'm going to have to go off the photos I uploaded earlier. So two weeks ago it was good weather but then it had to snow, first it kinda teased with snow in the day, took a pic of my dissapointment at work. Then later that night it snowed about 5-6 inches in just a couple of hours. It was very thick big wet flakes of snow that stuck very well to everything. I went and drove just to the street next over and back and it gave my car a snowstache. I took a pic the next morning right after getting to work. It was too much snow! Well the next week the weather got really nice. It hung around 78-80 for three days that week. It all went to crap right in time for my birthday that saturday. I got a new tire for my birthday, my friend Matt helped me get it put on. It was a pretty interesting deal, the hardest part was breaking the bead on the tire. But after about a hour and a half it was good as new. I did a couple of really nice burnouts with the old tire. We filmed it, I will put the videos up on here later. The tire works great, its a cheaper Kenda tire but since I can't lean my bike over that far in turns due to being lowered 3" I can't really tell how well they corner. So it doesn't matter, they'll work perfectly. I also during the week is warm got some new 235/40/18 sumer tires put on them. I got the Tiken Raptors which I must say I have been way impressed with, especially for what I paod for them. They hold turns better than the stock ones and the Goodyear Eagle GTs I had on it. They do great when its wet, aren't really loud and they ride very smooth. I know some Michelan Pilots would be better but these are amazing for the price! Being as my car has more power than it can put to the ground all tires will last about the same. I also got a really good deal on some snow tires for my car, i got rims already for them so i should be set for the next year or so tires wise. Saturday on my birthday Jared and I went to Texas Roadhouse up in sandy. Probably one of my favorite places to eat. The rolls there are amazing and are free. If you haven't eaten there you are seriously missing out. I good steak dinner that will stuff you is $9 before taxes and what not. Not to bad for a good sit down place. I got a killer laptop that I am blogging from right now. Its an Acer Aspire 4520, I like it quite a bit. Does everything I need it to and more! Thanks Devin! Sunday was JAreds farwell, snuck a couple of un expected photos from my best friend RM from Serbia. He gave a really good talk, the snow returned but didn't stick in the middle of the day. Well this week has been dragging quite a bit. Weather is going to be in the 50-60s. Hopefully it will be next week as it will be May! Crazy that May day is this Friday. Oh last week we put my car on a lift and took out he stock exhuast and put in a full straight 2 3/4" and 3" pipe from the down pipe all the way out to the rear with a small muffler on the end. It reduced quite a bit of backpressure after the turbo letting it spool quicker. I've gotten about 5mpg better and it drives quite a bit quicker. It sounds pretty good, almost like a diesel from 1100-3000 rpms and a mix between a rally tuned Evo and Sti. Well its another day at work tomorrow, Yesterday morning there were two Mallard ducks sitting by the door outside at work. I think there were staying warm as it had been very cold that night. I tried to take a pic but my phone scared them. Anyhow I'l try to keep this a little more updated now I have my own means of getting on here....

04/15/09

So its tax day, luckily I got mine done two months ago. Didn't really get too much this year, probably because I wasn't a student but oh well. So Jared came home last week, I got to see him for the first time Wednesday. It was crazy, I went over to his house after I got off work and hung out till late that night, got to see him another time after that but he will be gone for the next week and is very busy as you can imagine. He has adjusted very well, pretty much the same Jared I knew before just a little more reserved, experienced, and a stronger testimony which is awesome. Other than Jareds return not too much happened the past week. Got bored at work at the other day and snagged my co-workers little petal puzzle. It took me three hours to figure it out, granted I was doing it in between work so yeah. Still took me longer than I thought it would, pretty interesting time waster haha. We had Hispanic cultural day at work, jk jk I found a sombrero and wore it going by the name of babba looey. We have been very busy at work lately but in th evenings it slows down a bit so we come up with things to entertain ourselves. Last night I went to the gym to swim laps in the pool and do some cardio. Just a few minutes before I left the power went out. It was kinda cool, you could hear all the machines all power down, most people just started to leave. When I got outside it was pouring like crazy, haven't seen it rain that hard except out on the east coast. You could hear generators running in the distance and quite a few car alarms going off, kinda interesting. Well thats pretty much it for the past week...

04/06/2009

Well another week has passed since my last post, I took more photos this time of my past week. They are with my cell which has a 2.0 megapixel camera so they aren't they best. Jared my best friend gets home Tuesday when his flight arrives at 11:15 PM. I wont get to see him till the next day after work. It's been over 2 years and 3 weeks, it is surreal the time has come for him to return... Anyhow speaking of work last week it was our boss Brad's birthday. We had one of the managers to hold a bogus meeting while we tin foiled his entire cubicle, (Brad is the one with his arm resting on his chair btw). That didnt seem like it was enough so we all made up subjects/problems to email him with and bombarded his email inbox with bogus problems. I sent about 20 and there are around 40 people under him so his inbox exploded with about 300 something emails haha. My pictures aren't really in order, it keeps going weird when I try to move them so yeah. Well this weekend was pretty uneventful except for conference of course. Saturday my Dad and I had the chance to go and see the priesthood session in person. I finally got myself a suit, guess it was about time. It had been awhile since we had gone to priesthood so we took some pics. It was a very good session with some powerful messages. There were the usual protesters, got to have the entertainment right? One had a sign thanking the church for the support to vote yes on prop.8 haha. He was still ragging on the church though. Sunday after the second session of conference I took the bike out for a slightly chilly cruise. Rode up to the Y mountain parking lot. The sky was a very deep looking view, and the snow had retread quite a bit up the mountain. That area is kind of strange as it always warmer up at that spot than anywhere in the valley. Im excited for the coming weeks, its supposed to hit almost 70 tomorrow althoguh its going to rain this weekend. Jared is coming home and summer is just around the corner. Good times are coming!

Last Weekend of March.

Alright, so its now finally spring, but mother nature doesn't seem to agree. I came outside for work this morning to 6 inches of snow on my car, six! For one overnight dose that was quite a bit for our area. This weekend was the last weekend of March, something I've been looking forward to as it would mean one last week until my best friend returns from his mission. Jared is coming home Tuesday April 7th just before midnight, should be awesome! He will step off the plane after flying and traveling for 23 hours, so I probably won't see him till the next day. So I'm going to explain the photos below. The first one I took while driving down state street in Orem Friday evening. I was heading south and noticed something different with a BMW X5 heading down the street. The rear suspension had somehow in someway been lifted 4-6 inches! It was riding super stiff in the rear and the driver was this really old man with a long white beard. The front suspension seemed to be still at stock settings. I have never seen or heard of a BMW being lifted but there it is. The next three photos I took saturday afternoon while out riding on my motorcycle. I saw my friend Matt riding a sportquad in the field off the Alpine highway. I stop and joined in on the fun for a bit. It's been awhile since I've ridden and it tore up my hands pretty good! His friend let me use his Polaris Outlaw, probably the best Polaris ever made but thats only because it has a KTM motor. The rest of the photos were taken Saturday evening as the sun was going down. I have a friend in my ward who wanted to try taking some photos of my car by the lake. We drove down to Lindon boat harbor and took some pics by the lake. It was beautiful! The weather was nice, the lake was calm, and it smelled like summer was coming, not the usual Utah lake smell. It was very nice, we went back to the outer parking lot and I took that last photo, it was gorgeous. I am very excited about the coming summer, I just wish that the winter would actually be over and stop this snowing! We will definetly be well stocked for our water supplies this summer. Sunday I participated in a eagle court of honor. The had me and four other men in our respective military uniforms perform the posting/retrieving of the colors. CSM(Command Seargant Major) Slade was there. He had been in the Army for about 40 years! Also Brother Nelson I had no idea but was a Major (Officer) in the Army. Brother Mueller did the commanding and Brother Slater who is Air Force retired assisted with the colors. It was pretty cool, I have a short video of the posting of the colors but it is not on this computer so you can check it out at this link here.

Life in the MS3! (aka Mazdaspeed3)

So I was at the car wash and was thinking I havent taken a really any pics of my interior of my vehicle. I took this photo and I really like how it shows the layout of my "cockpit". So there ya go!
Last night was pretty uneventful, feeling like I needed to do something I did what I usually do....drive. I had a coupon for a free hot chocolate at the Walkers gas station so I went down there and got one. I spent about 15 minutes just driving around, I was driving up the top of Lindon hill and sitting in the dark with no lights visible except the glow of a laptop which you can only see from pretty close was a Lindon cop. He was parked on the West side facing the street out of the Ace rents pull off, no radar or anything... sneaky sneaky haha, I've notice they really like to use their ability to hide the dark color of their vehicles in the night, so beware of those dark spots to the side of the road. Any how I turned on my interior lights for a bit, they are LED's that are red. I took a photo of myself and it came out looking very black and white, thought it was pretty cool, so there it is haha....

The picture above was taken Friday evening while out on my bike(Suzuki Boulevard). I thought the sky in the west looked pretty cool reflecting off of the end of my handle bars. The weather this weekend was awesome, it was over 70 degrees, unfortuanatley it didnt last as it is snowing out side right now... Below are pictures from going to and at a Mazda meet on Saturday at Sugarhouse park. There were a lot of speed3's rx-8s, speed protege's and a couple of speed6's, oh and the few evos that showed up too. It was pretty cool to see what others have done with their cars.

This car has just under 500 WHP(wheel horse power)! Those down force fins on the front are for actual use not looks as when he hits 130mph and higher the front end would start floating from the explosive acceleration. Majority of the parts are from cobb, fmic, ap, coil overs, etc...

Couple of the evos that were there, a evo 9 and evo 10. The husband drives the 10 and the wife the 9.
